Assignment # 1 RMiskelly

“Radical in the White House”, a New York Times article, by Thomas Friedman describes Barack Obama’s presidency as one that will weigh significantly on the future of our America. Friedman is a moderate educated citizen whom wants to see a success like that of Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, or Lyndon Johnson’s who signed such documents as the New Deal, Medicare, and Civil Rights Act. He says he’d like see our president swing for the fences, not without running the bases though. Translated politically, the writer wants to see a radical solution, logically provoked.

I’d ponder that Thomas Friedman is directing his thoughts at supporters of the Barack Obama. To ensure confidence in our president as success may not come easy. President Obama will suffer shortfalls as he battles a system rigged for stalemate as described by Michael Sandel, a Harvard University political theorist, about the US government.
