This article was written to show that the seventeenth amendment gives total executive authority to the Senate. This means that if a seat in the Senate becomes empty, they have the power to appoint whomever they want to fill this chair.
I believe that the vacant spot should be chosen by the people because it is our right. I do not agree with the fact that Senators should be able to pick their friends to fill a vacant seat, it's just not right.
